"Librarians have always been among the most thoughtful and helpful people. They are teachers without a classroom."

- Willard Scott

Welcome to my story.

I've been in my libraries all my life. Who hasn't? (If you haven't, go to your nearest library. Bring your photo ID, proof of residence, and a large bag to hold all the promotional items or books, DVDs, CDs, magazines you can check out.)

It didn't occur to me that I belonged in a library even though I was a volunteer and eventually page or shelver for my local library district during high school. It didn't hit me until I was working for two departments at my university library. My occupational goals at that time ranged from an English Literature professor because I love books to an accountant because I love numbers in books. I decided to be a librarian because it was the only way I felt that I could do everything and anything I want. (And I would still be surrounded by books).

The passion to do everything and anything I want did not die during graduate school. I learned at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, that I could be any kind of librarian I desired. My courses reflect the versatility I embrace such as cataloging, administration,  law librarianship, and even theologocal librarianship. I studied users of information because I wanted to know why in the world did people choose NOT to go to the library. Just because we have the Internet at our fingertips does not mean that we should never enter a library. Children's Literature should be a requirement for every library scholar because the first person every librarian should work with at some point or another is a child. I earned my Masters of Library and Information Science in one calendar year in December 2010 and branded myself as a Versatile Information Professional.

I love being versatile, being able to do anything after learning and practicing and loving it. I'm ready to share my experiences and pictures of serving public library communities.

This website is brand new and I will be adding content such as my CV, pictures, blog entries, and anything else that is part of my story.

Thank you for reading,
